How to paint timber roof trusses or ceilings?

If you decide (and this solution is recommended) to preserve the natural beauty of wooden trusses, grates or ceilings, there is a solution to use glazings or colourless varnishes.

Impregnant:
Properly prepared wood is first protected with a suitable fungicide or biocide impregnant. We recommend FUNGISTOP S1031 that protects the wood against wood-decaying fungi and insects, mould, wood bluing and in the same time penetrates deeply.

Glazings:
Penetrating version of glazings LUSONOL S1023 and PROFI OLEJOVÁ LAZURA O1020 are ideally suited for the surface treatment of wood and wood exposed to weathering. The oils in these glazings protect the wood in depth and allow it to breathe freely and during the shrinking, nothing peels and so its maintenance and repair is the easiest. To protect wood against biological attack (fungi, mould and insect) under OLEJOVÁ LAZURA O1020 there is especially designed series of unleachable biocidal impregnants LIGNOSTOP series (V1041, V1042 and possibly V1045).
You can use colourless variants when painting in the interior or in exterior but in areas not exposed to sun.

For stable elements thin-layer glazing LUSONOL EXTRA S1024 can be used.. This glazing gives wood a more complete and “luxurious” appearance and protection.

Varnish:
Stable elements can also be painted with colourless varnish. Above all, the highly durable synthetic JACHTLAK S1006 is used. There is choice of glossy, semi-matt and matt variant.
